Full coding guide on display entities to make INSANE creations on Minecraft 1.19.4+. Display entities are non-colliding blocks, items or entities which can be transformed, textured or stretched.

Similarly to markers, display entities do not move, take damage, make sounds, nor do they have a collision, meaning you can walk through them.

Display entities are extremely useful for map or data packs to show various things.

In this episode, we’re going to cover:

  • Item displays — Using Spigot/Paper API to display any item in any dimension or size.
  • Block displays — Displaying fake blocks you can stretch, or making a “black hole”.
  • Text displays — Showing fake texts like holograms, but much easier to make and persistent over restarts.
